Last week i went riding my brand-new-first-fillet-brazed-road-bike for the first time, along with my lazy team mate Cetto.
So, these are my personal impressions about it.
The bike is VERY reactive, it feels almost like a carbon frame.
Very light and agile even with a traditional non slooping geometry.
It’s rigid as i wanted, precise in the descents. Thanks to the oversize headtube, and the tapered fork head 1-1/8″ – 1.5″ . Also, i set it up with 25mm Challege open tubulars which feel awesome on the road. Not feeling the difference with the 23mm at all. They give a really minimal rolling resistance to the bike ( I inflated at 8 bar as usual ).
The bike feels rigid but also comfy in the asperities…after all, steel is always the most comfy material of all. Is’t the perfect bike for many different rides, but i’m already looking many times at the Trans continental race blog so far, and the Stanca Road would be a perfect rig for this kind of long distance cycling adventures as well, for sure.

At the end, we had to let the bike be blessed by our personal Jesus, I mean the one and only San Francesco di Puianello, official protector of the Erman.bike lazy team from rain and all that kind of shit. Thanks for existing and giving us your benevolence, St. Francis from Puya.

Thanks Cetto for the company, here’s the official page of the Stanca Road bike:
